Rather than deal with bad or troubling news, our society too often has chosen the easy path of doing no more than casting doubt or derision on the messengers of the ill tidings. Kind of like suicide by ignorance and inaction.
Yes, it is a bit of a concern. Until recently, I was expecting global warming to kill everybody a little while after I’d have passed away from old age. For that reason, I thought it was a win win situation not to do anything to prevent global warming. First win was keep enjoying and not making effort or restricting myself, second win being of course the end of a new generation raised with social media. Now it looks like the end will come earlier than expected and I might get to suffer too. It’s not fair.
During the Halocene era (our present one) the Arctic melted numerous times. We’re still here. BTW so are the Polar Bears, which aren’t a recent evolution.

Sadly, too many of us no longer believe/trust knowledgeable people.

Oddly, science is based on the idea of proving others wrong. A great deal of scientific experiments are designed toward that end.

We don’t need to agree on why it’s happening, but it’s very stupid to say it isn’t happening.
