My sister didn’t get along with our paternal grandmother. They were too much alike.. Too much so that my sisters middle name is my grandmothers middle name…

Grandparents get to spoil the kids,
Aunts and uncles get to be friends with the kids.
Parents need to be parents to the kids, until the kids grow up; then they can become friends with them.
Sadly too many parents want to be friends with the kids, and don’t raise them properly; or worse yet have nothing to do with the kids.
