I used to buy tickets for all the teachers in my school, when I lived in Illinois, which had a lottery, and worked in Missouri, which didn’t. I would always spend a dollar on one for myself. It was the best entertainment value I have ever had. Daydreams are just more fun if there is a chance that they could come true, no matter how slight that chance may be.
I had a dream once, where I won the lottery…being raised a Christian, I was taught that gambling was wrong, and that the lottery was a form of gambling, even if the money was “supposed” to go to the schools….ahem…anyway, after winning, and after taxes and such, I went to my parents to offer them some money to help them out. They wouldn’t accept it because I had sinned. I went to my brothers, and the same thing. I went to my church to give my tithe on the winnings, and the church wouldn’t take it either! Sheesh! In real life, I don’t bother playing the lottery, but IF I did, and I won, I would keep it quiet on how I got the money…

Toby, learn this phrase: “A fool and his money are soon parted.”
It will come in handy if you ever win the lottery.
