I wonder who was actually the first in the world to come up with a 7-day week, and when was that? Are/were there civilizations that divided the year differently? (Chinese and Mayans spring to mind.) How come the numbers 7 and 12 are so common when calculations were (always?) done in decimal numbers?
The ideal calendar would have 13 months of 28 days each. The first day of the month would always be the first day of the week. So much simpler. There’s one extra day – call it New Year’s Day, and it’s not in any month nor does it have a day of the week. Treat Leap Day the same, and put it sometime warm so we can enjoy it.
We need to replace the old Gregorian calendar, With something more accurate and and get rid of this AD, BC stuff the calendar goes straight from 1 BC to 1 AD, . The real year is ???

Add a 13th month and it’s only 1 day short.

If folks were foolish enough to buy that calendar, they may as well keep it!

12 months of 30 days and a 5 day holiday period at the end of the year. With a mid-year holiday every 4 years. Stolen from Prof. Tolkien.

The calendar he invented here is the beta version; all new technologies need time to get the bugs worked out.
