Normal is what we deduce by averaging what we remember. In times of inflation, “normal” is “wow, THAT costs a lot!”

What we are currently witnessing is PRICE GOUGING, NOT JUST INFLATION.INFLATION is when business owners raise prices commensurate with higher costs to make ends meet.

But when corporations are reporting record all-time profits, exponentially disproportionate to any other inflationary factors, raising prices during a crisis is NOT JUST INFLATION, it is PRICE GOUGING to capitalize on supply chain disruptions caused by a national emergency.

If there were a hurricane, tornado, flood or wildfire and vendors were charging $60 for a bottle of water, they would be arrested. We need to see some of the corporate heads who have tripled their profits on the backs of consumers being frog-marched into the Big House.

The real causes of artificially jacked-up inflation are PRICE GOUGING due to CORPORATE GREED and not enough competition because anti-trust laws have not been enforced.

We need the Department of Justice to get involved.

Someone please wake Merrick Garland up!

Well that’s good. It means that “this” can be the new normal and we can all thank Joe when things cool off a bit and prices go down.

Home Loans 6%! When I came back from Japan in 1982 (having sold my house 4 years prior and at $60,000 less than my new home), the rate was 12.5%. It’s just one of the benefits of being in the armed forces – you are usually privileged to pay the highest home prices and mortgage rates.

What does “normalcy” look like? Is it the “normalcy” of those two white people the same for everyone? Is “normalcy” defined by the irrecoverable past?

    The only normalcy is change.

I hope the country, the world, never go back to “normal”. I would prefer changes. Ending billion-dollar global businesses, expanding small business, heavily tax billionaires and end poverty, get off oil, coal, natural gas ASAP, replacing patriarchy and hierarchy while embracing partnership systems, respecting the earth instead of dominating it. I’m sure I’ve forgotten many a change needed.

I could give a crap who you want to blame, but our elected leaders whether it be POTUS, FLOTUS, Nancy, Chuckie, or whoever are not doing crap whatsoever. But what do you expect out of someone who has never worked in the past 20- 30 years, all they have done is politics and living off our money. Be they Democrat, Independent, or Republican after 2 terms BYE ADIOS, just GO!

Why do the corporations game the markets when a democrat is in the white house is the question we should be asking.
