Degrees are the statement that you have completed all the parts of a study program for your chosen field. If you skip some of those parts, you’re missing knowledge that you’ll need later. If rich kids skip their education, they won’t know when the “advisors” handling their funds decide to skip with the loot.

Nevertheless, Cynthia, by the laws of physics you have to occupy space and time for the rest of your days, typically in some sort of communion with other human beings. So, what do you want to do with that time and space? Education actually gives you creative options.

That’s usually called Affirmative Action, except since this isn’t a Black, Brown, or Asian person, I guess its not.

Life is like playing a ring toss game at a carnival. If you’re rich, the guy working game puts the ring on the target for you, tells you that you won, and gives you a giant stuffed animal. Then you tell everyone about how your success is due to your hard work.

If you are middle class, you can afford several tries to toss the ring over the target. That’s usually enough for you to win.

If you are poor, you don’t ever get to toss the ring. You are working the game at the carnival.

And thus the degrees of various Kennedys, Bushes, Trumps, etc. Let’s hear it for those great Ivy League traditions, the legacy & the gentleman’s C, eh?

My college was so poor that we only had one rich kid (who lived in town.) There were a few exchange students who were from out of state…

Cynthia’s not wrong, but she’s also likely messing with the counselor. She’s lives to break the adults. She’s smart and despite her dad’s money you can tell she has plans and goals.
