As much as I speak English as my primary language and the younger sibling of a collegiate professor who teaches it, I don’t get what he means. What would such a card say in those conditions?
I have totally forgotten what those words mean in a sentence, but it was imperative that I laugh. I guess it is indicative of my congenial nature….I don’t need consoled much.
Back in the day I would have hoped the English teacher stayed off longer! She gave way too much homework. I’d rather have cajoled the easy-going substitute to stay on for the rest of the year.
