You may want to heed the lesson that Crunchy just gave you, Joe!

One of the reasons I really detested about getting a cell phone, all the tracking. Big Bro doesn’t need know my whereabouts every second of the day. “1984” was not a suggestion. And, GASP!, HORROR of HORRORS! I don’t take it with me everywhere I go.

Police cars are visible on a tracking board at all times.

Turning off stuff on your phone won’t help you. Why would Shark be carrying a phone at all, if he wants to stay hidden?

My beloved wanted to keep track on me and our son’s.

It worked other than the fact that she kept misplacing her phone.

That’s also why in Africa the reserves protecting rare animals ask that you turn off your GPS and the tracking on your photos. So that when you publish them the poachers don’t know exactly where the rhino or elephant or gorilla were.

Thanks, Crunchy. Now I know what “airplane mode” means. Not that I’ve flown anywhere since the start of the pandemic . . .

When Hubby is on a long trip by himself, I keep track of his progress to and from home. It just a way to keep my mind at peace when he is gone.

I had to get a new mobile phone recently – it seems not just 3G discontinued but some 4G phones also were discontinued. I absolutely hate my new phone (husband told me that all would be the same – well, they both are Android phones but almost without exception nothing works the same). I still carry my old phone around the house for some apps which I use in the house and are not available for the new phone -though it cannot make calls unless over the Internet and I don’t bother with that and make/receive extremely few texts and phone calls (figured out I pay about US$3 per call/text received or made, based on the monthly fee, as there are so few of them). Old phone can be updated for my information on the new phone over the Internet.

I could not figure out why the battery on the old phone was running down so quickly – then I realized it keeps looking for a signal. Set it to airplane mode and no longer a problem.

Not understanding the technology doesn’t make him stupid, merely ignorant.
