There’s a humorous crime novel titled Every Little Crook and Nanny, by Evan Hunter. Some ill-informed crooks kidnap a rich man’s little boy. The child’s nanny, with a few oddballs assisting her, tries to get the kid back before Daddy, a Mafia boss, comes back from his business trip….
Actually, “Every Little Crook and Nanny” is the title of a 1972 film starring Victor Mature (which he came out of retirement to do), and an unrelated 1996 play by Pat Cook. (I’ve seen neither.)
