The American Senate, once called the “world’s greatest deliberative body” within the confines of the American borders, now, basically deliberates nothing, debates nothing, creates nothing but obstructs EVERYTHING, thanks to a political party that just sits on its “ass”, all day, collecting its liberal salary while accomplishing NOTHING, as it continues to call itself the “republican” party, though it bears little if any resemblance to the republican party to which I belonged in the 1950s and 1960s.

That party, now totally controlled by Donald J. Trump, his children and such acolytes as could keep up with the changing whims of his mercurial personality, did not even HAVE a political platform in 2020 outside of saying that they stood for whatever Trump stood for, if anything!

The republican senate minority leader, “Moscow” Mitch McConnell, couldn’t outline what he wanted to accomplish, assuming he was able to retake control of the senate in 2022, telling the questioning reporter he’d have to get back to him on that.

In actuality, the retaking of the reins of power WAS the defining goal of him and his entire party, with absolutely no plans beyond that.

I have to assume that the voters that send these “imbecilic morons” to congress are content with them only blocking democrats from accomplishing and never producing anything useful, themselves.

For them, being obstructionistic is evidently a desired goal.

the GQP believes the filibuster is a cornerstones of democracy unless they want to install an alt right “supreme” court justice even before her predecessor is in the grave

Voting isn’t a right. It’s a privilege. It says so right here in my pocket copy of the Constitution. Let me see here, it’s…

Some people complain about kids not saying the Pledge of Allegiance in school any more, which they do. Of those complaining adults, I wonder how many still say it. I know I do at Scout and VFW meetings.

My only complaint about the Pledge od Allegiance is the “one nation under god” which Billy Graham convinced Eisenhower to add to it. Graham said that adding it would make the United States a moral country. Trump and others have sworn oaths on bibles and then were as immoral as they could be. A moral person doesn’t need that line and an immoral person will ignore it. Also, Graham had absolutely no respect for anyone else’s religion.

On another topic… Is Rump almost, finally, possibly, could be, might be, so close to being in REAL, honest, legal, criminal, indictable trouble? Stay tuned.

And yet, it looks like they will succeed in gaining control of Congress again in the midterms. Maybe it is time for Democrats (and others) to start working together rather than tearing each other apart. “We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.” [Benjamin Franklin]
