That’s because it is a bad thing. What percent of the total electorate in the USA voted for the 50 GQP or GOP (if there are any) Senators? About 20% or so. And how many people carefully polled, say they want something resembling the stuff that McConnell and crew are stonewalling? About 70%.
“Radical agenda.” Like reauthorizing the Voting Rights Act, passed multiple times by overwhelming bipartisan majorities. Guess those unAmerican Radical Socialists like Everett Dirksen and Gerald Ford must be spinning in their graves in frustration.
The Democrats knew they would lose. They needed this as a campaign point in the mid-terms. Unfortunately, I don;t think it will rally enough Democrats to the polls to vote out the $hithead Republicans.
No matter which side you are on, if you don’t want the laws changing every time the party in control changes, you should approve of this rule. It forces at least a minimal level of bi-partisanship when a bill passes.
It IS a bad thing. It interferes with representative government and favors the empowered minority, which is why Republicans have fallen in love with it.
When you stand for nothing, you want nothing done.
It is a bad thing. With an easy fillibuster, we have a situation now where it’s difficult for Congress to do anything at all. So yeah, Al, it’s a bad thing. Unless you LIKE bleeding treasury money because the government has to be funded by Continuing Resolutions.

The filibuster has been reformed over 160 times, including passing corporate tax cuts and to confirm extreme RNJB justices.
The filibuster is NOT in the constitution.
But our right to vote IS.

The right keeps calling Democrat plans a “radical agenda”. They never say what’s so radical about it.
I wonder why.

We have a bicameral legislature, the filibuster hurts the way that Congress was envisioned to work.

It IS a bad thing. If you would prefer a Republican dictatorship, come out and say it. But for now, the country’s laws are based on democracy.
And to say that the Dem’s agenda is “radical” is laughable.
