This one is irritating. If a person does not have the patience to read a 4 sentence problem, how the heck will they ever survive a car-lease agreement. I have NEVER seen a textbook problem where there was not some relationship between the information given and the question being asked. If folks want to practice failure, that’s on them.
My favorite math comic strip was by Gary Larson. It showed books on a shelf, with titles like: “Story Problems”, “More Story Problems”, and “Story Problems Galore”. The caption read: The Library of Hell.
After I had a wonderful teacher that made math fun for me, I actually learned to like story problems. Once you learn how to convert the sentences into an equation, solving it makes you a winner!

Sometimes I thought the distance problems were about as nonsensical as this problem. It was appropriate his answer was just as full of nonsense.

I don’t know what subject his exam is in, but it definitely isn’t math.
