What’s with all the Gil sort-of-lookalike characters lately? Whigham needs the practice drawing him, since he appears so rarely?

So what exactly is the deal with this fantasy game he’s playing? He was playing it up about getting into the top 100, but there’s no money involved as the best he can do is win a tee shirt? And how does that cause him to have no money? Is he paying to play this thing, despite there being no payout? Well, I’m sure it will all be explained to our perfect satisfaction. Or, it might just disappear in a week and we never hear of it again.
