Like THAT could work. It actually would work in a more rational society… but would also be totally unnecessary… and so wouldn’t be there (it being a rational society).
I’m not sure humans are capable of forming such a society. Vulcans, maybe… but that might not be as much fun as humans…
Conservatives are more concerned about teachers bringing actual history books to school than they are about mass shooters bringing weapons of war to school.
As long as conservatives love their precious guns more than their disposable children, the epidemic of gun violence and death at schools (and churches, and nightclubs, and concerts and, and, and…) will continue.
And they have the nerve to call themselves “pro life.”
I feel people don’t fear repercussions like they should partly bc we’re probably too soft. I went to school, grades 1-12 alone in NM, OH, CA & WA; a pretty broad sample. A trend was noticeable everywhere; certain people just don’t give a $hit & it starts in the home. With failing people, priorities are just not where they should be.
I’ve contemplated & am still not entirely sure, but wonder if corporal punishment, (paddle to ass) would make people grow up & stop being a burden to the teachers and other students around them trying to do something with their life & contribute to society instead of being a perpetual mouth to feed or worse.
This is so true and yet so sad. I reluctantly accept the Court’s ruling on the second amendment and don’t want to debate the issue here. What I do want to present is gun ownership requires responsibility, darn little of which I see at the moment. Airport TSA Agents have confiscated a record number of guns from carry on luggage. When questioned the Agents report the person says I forgot it was there. HOW IN THE HELL CAN YOU FORGET WHERE YOU PUT SUCHA LETHAL WEAPON?????
How do you leave guns laying around the house unsecured? Before you argue, what good is a locked up gun if someone breaks into my house, take a look at some of the security options which include a fast release lockbox that the owner can access in a second (literally) and can used any place you can place your gun (night stand, coffee table, end table, etc.
Come on gun rights folks, let’s not say no without listening, let’s agree that a gun owner has responsibility and if unwilling to exercise it or cannot exercise it, should not have a gun.
The sign read “SLOW CHILDREN” . .so people wouldn’t run over them with their SUV during a Christmas Parade . . .don’t correct me if I’m wrong . . . maybe the driver feared for his life due to people chasing after his vehicle. . . . /S
We’ve had years to try and do something about this but the right leaning gun owning wingnuts are just too ignorant in understanding what is a right and what is a privilege.
Oxford High shooting suspect’s mom once wrote an open letter to Trump praising his defense of gun rights
The mother of the the Oxford High school shooting suspect once praised Trump’s gun stance.
Jennifer Crumbley wrote a blog after the 2016 election thanking Trump for protecting gun rights.
Prosecutors said they’re considering charging the parents of the 15-year-old shooting suspect.
The mother of the Oxford High School shooting suspect once wrote an open letter to former President Donald Trump praising his defense of gun rights.
Jennifer Crumbley, 43, published a blog on WordPress shortly after the 2016 election, addressing Trump and explaining why she voted for him.
As part of the blog, she thanked him “for respecting [the Second] Amendment,” and allowing her the “right to bear arms.”
She also thanked him for “Allowing me to be protected if I show a home to someone with bad intentions,” referencing her then-job as a realtor.
Authorities said Crumbley’s 15-year-old son, Ethan, opened fire with a 9mm Sig Sauer SP 2022 pistol that his dad bought on Black Friday. Four students died in the attack and several others were wounded, authorities said.
Ethan now faces homicide and terrorism charges and will be charged as an adult.
Prosecutors are currently weighing whether to charge the teen’s parents in the shooting.
According to the lawyers for the parents, they are not fugitives from justice, they are merely running away because they are afraid of their lives. Why don’t they do like other Republicans, arm themselves with automatic weapons and shoot anyone that threatens them?
It’s tough being a parent. You have to know your children. When our sons were little we made sure unused electrical outlets were covered and the poisons that most other people store under the sink were on high shelves out of reach and that pot and pan handles did not extend out over the stove’s edge so little hands could grab them.
As the boys got older, we were still lucky. We knew that we did not have to lock up our the medicine cabinet or the liquor cabinet since we knew that our two sons would not take the contents. Likewise for the car keys. We knew the boys would not steal our cars and go joy riding – part of the reason was that we owned such clunkers that the boys were embarrassed to even be passengers in them.
At the time, my wife and I were smokers and we left our cigarette packs out. The boys were smarter than us back then. They didn’t smoke.
I also suspect that my boys would not have taken any firearms but even at that, I’m smart enough to know that you are supposed to keep firearms locked up.
Now as for dad’s stash of Playboy magazines, those I I did make an effort to “keep out of reach of children.” I am pretty sure they would have taken them.
I suspect that these same lawyers will argue that the parents could not know what their son intended to do.
Some people should not procreate. I think the case of these parents is a good pro-abortion argument. Had they chosen that option, four more children would be alive today.

Shouldn’t that kid have his own AR-15 so he can return fire?

Republicans don’t care as long as the children who were gunned down weren’t fetuses. The sanctity for human life ends when the umbilical cord is cut.

Are the shooter’s parents proud? Of course, they are NOT responsible in ANY way.

Well, at least this isn’t Wisconsin. Those children who were murdered or wounded can be called victims.
