    The future meteorologist doesn’t quite have it all right (yet). For instance, he said “… when it reaches the troposphere …” – it’s more accurate to say that it reaches the stratosphere The troposphere is the lowest layer of the atmosphere (where most of the cumulonimbus cloud is and forms). When the upper part of a cumulonimbus cloud reaches the stratosphere, an anvil head may form due to the winds in the stratosphere.
