No apology beats admitting to an insult that otherwise would have gone unnoticed!

Still possible that Mortimer is growling at something else, we shall see.

The solution is don’t rush to judgement – wait for the evidence. (My wife will decide what she ‘knows’ is true about someone one second after meeting them. Drives her crazy that I won’t instantly agree. Of course, sometimes the evidence comes faster than others. But even if it comes slowly there’s no need to rush.)

Joe just insulted Kris with his “apology”. Kris did not know Joe felt that way until Joe told him. He should have kept his mouth shut.
