He’s been waiting a long time—-and his waiting isn’t over since it has been 15 or 20 years since I have seen an ad for ‘sea monkeys’ ! ! ! !

I remember ordering those packs of seeds to sell … sold my lot, took my cut … tried planting some of the vegetables … a year later, one sprig of lettuce grew where the garden had been … good `ole days … :)

Boy, does that bring back some memories. My sister had some of those back in the mid 70’s

Yeah, they were one of the early scams back in the fifties along with the x-ray glasses. The palm buzzer at least worked, for a little while.

My SkilCraft Microscope Lab came with brine shrimp (aka sea monkeys). I can remember watching them dance around under the scope. There is about half a tube of eggs left. I wonder if they are still viable after 60 years.

Nope, had them come (and go) many times, along with a few shipments of ants for my ant farm.

Ever play with a maze that had mercury in it? Is one of your fondest memories a plastic horse that you rode on many an imaginary adventure? (Mine was Blaze the Wonder Horse; don’t know how my folks found one they could afford at the time). Did someone from an earlier generation show you how to make a toy they made before mass manufacturing, like shingle arrows, a handmade doll, a hoop and stick, a top? Did you ever go fishing with a bamboo pole?
