Our parrot reacts to ANYTHING that’s out of place, or ANY movement in our yard or down the street (when he can see it), he makes a much better burglar alarm/motion sensor than any electronic gadget we could buy.
“Killer” next door threatens to jump down my throat and rip my lungs out (at least that’s what I tease him with over the fence — I don’t think he actually understands me). Cute little fluff ball. {^¿^}
Cats too! The sweet thing you see to your left climbed on my nightstand to leap onto a very high window sill every day to watch for critters and wait for the rising sun. She would then sun bathe until it was time to move to the cat tower in the front window. That’s where she could see EVERYTHING that goes on in this little section of our block. She also commanded the back yard when she would ask to go outside. Napping under the lemon tree was her reward for patrolling the premises.
I have a human friend who held the same way. She calls me every night to report on everything her neighbors have done all day? No sent if “why would I care” convinces her this just not normal human behavior.
At least he gets to see stuff. My late springer spaniel would lay down on guard at the glassy front door — with nothing to really see, except birds, squirrels and rarely somebody walking by. Poor Samantha. : )
