Wizard of Id by Parker and Hart for September 10, 2021

Out of all the anachronisms in The Wizard of ID, this seems like the most glaring…

The Wiz is ill-suited for it.

He wears what he wants everyday.

With that red tie he must root for the CHIEFS.

After wearing jeans and t-shirts for months in BCS (Boeing Computer Services) I once wore a suit and Southfield School tie, just for the halibut!

The way people responded to me was incredible!

It could just be an off day or a day off (as in No Wizzing today.)

An “appointment” with the “outside” world?

I used to do that. The place I worked didn’t really have a dress code, so for Fridays I would wear nice slacks and a tie. I ended up getting a reputation there, but it was fun.

Just hope there are no casualties. That was terrible.

With Wiz, I thought it would have been a power(s) suit…

For the Wiz, this is dressup Friday as he usually wears a kind of mini skirt with asterisks on it.

The wiz in shoes? Shocking!

Truth is he went to he bank for a student loan, so he could return to wizard school. They turned him down (again), because he flunked out the first time.

Pajamas with a collar and tie printed on them.

He used to be a wizard, now he’s a gentleman with class.

Where the heck did the Wizard get clown shoes? Though, I suppose it goes well with the monkey suit.

A suit isn’t exactly casual.

I’ve been reading this strip for too long, and am used to seeing him in his robe. This doesn’t suit him. :)
