I’ve only done miniature golf, and I tried hitting balls a long way for practice at a normal golf course, but I couldn’t do it. That was when I was a teenager.
My BFF (RIP) attitude to golf was purely scientific. Mass, velocity, inertia, drag coefficient, the usual aerodynamic stuff. The actual part of chasing the ball around 18 pastures probably involved his pocket circular slide rule. I expect he might have considered planetary rotation and time dilation as the golf ball approached the speed of light

I cheated: I took golf as a phys ed course every semester in college. Archery and fencing too. Great to relax between classes.
