Fortunately, vaccination rates have gone up, even in red states – we’ve gone from a low of around half a million a day to around 900,000 a day (see link below), apparently for one of several reasons:
1. Even Republican politicians (most of whom were already vaccinated but conveniently avoided it) are starting to recommend it
2. People are missing out as businesses, schools, etc., are refusing to admit people without proof of vaccination
3. People have seen their family and friends vaccinated without negative consequences
The people who have been loudly saying “it isn’t approved!” now have a chance to put up or shut up – not that I really expect them to shut up. As it is, people claiming they don’t trust mRNA because it’s new technology (actually, it’s based on the fundamental chemistry your body requires to function) have been quietly ignoring the fact that the J&J vaccine is “old school” vaccine technology.
But if they all get themselves vaccinated, we at least have a chance of reducing the spread.
The lost opportunities here are agonizing; had we continued to vaccinated at the peak rate of 4 million Americans a day back in April, we would have reached 75%+ by July – maybe sooner. Instead, at current rates, we’re talking July NEXT YEAR. (See the link below, again.)
…but the mental midgets implicitly trusts the “talking heads” on FOX News when they recommend ingesting a medication that is ONLY used to deworm animals here in America.
And the truly sad part of it all is that they really don’t need to be “dewormed” in the first place because the inadvertent tobacco juice they swallow from “dipping” and “chewing” puts enough nicotine in their systems to eliminate parasites from their systems in the first place…
Serious problem about “who” you “can” trust. Our governments (yours and ours) do not have a very good track record. In Alberta the science on how to deal with the pandemic seems to come more from Calgarian business folk wanting to have the Calgary Stampede than scientific studies. And.. we are suffering because of it with increasing cases.
Alt-rights never run out of excuses to continue to be against everything they’re already against… but now they’re even turning their backs on the Former Guy they used to love (because he dared tell them to get vaccinated)…
I watched an older woman, an anti-vaxxer, from one of the southern states being interviewed recently. Asked why she wouldn’t get vaccinated when even Trump recently advised it and had been vaccinated she replied “No, I don’t believe he has been vaccinated, no I really don’t.”
Yep. Now they are saying the approval happened too fast but they still give the former guy credit with Operation Warp Speed for getting the emergency use authorization done while he was still in office. Go figure insert eyeroll

It’s the best feature of conspiracy thinking. Any new information adds further proof of the theory. Any new information at all.
