Once again, we’re pulling out and leaving behind the people who risked their lives to help us, because we have to first put them through a ridiculously strict process to make sure they’re okay to enter the US. We have some messed up priorities.
An outcome that was preordained from the day Dubya realized that his effort to catch/kill bin Laden was far too undermanned to succeed and changed the mission to regime change.
Understand that Bush 43 invaded Iraq to avenge an attempted assassination on his father Bush 41 by Hussain and that his approval of the surgical strike on the bin Laden camp in Afghanistan was doomed to failure from the outset since America “telegraphed” the attack beforehand, giving Al Qaeda plenty of time to transfer operations to Pakistan!
The entire middle eastern debacle was mishandled from the outset – the Bush 43 administration had no clear objective in mind, other than what Bush 43 wanted which was to punish Saddam Hussein for the unsuccessful assassination attempt on Bush 43.
Until Trump stumbled into the American presidency, Bush 43 was the least knowledgeable president about the Middle East we’ve had, and, to him, one “Towel Head” was much like another; he pretty much lumped Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan together in one huge steaming mess.
Evidence of this “willful ignorance” was readily apparent from the outset – The “9/11” attack was carried out by Saudi Arabian nationals (19 of the 21 terrorists in the suicide ‘planes were Saudis) and it was known that Osama bin Laden was a wealthy disaffected Saudi as well, and yet Bush directed ALL of America’s energies on attacking Iraq and Afghanistan!
Jeff, they’re “interpreters,” NOT “translators.” If it’s spoken, its interpreted; if it’s written, it’s translated. Other than that, you’ve highlighted yet another example of our nation’s residual hypocrisy and immorality.

Is taking rigorous intensive courses in short-sightedness and obstruction a prerequisite to becoming a politician in the US?
Is there anyone left that completely trusts us to be a rational, compassionate, humane, nation?
