“Offensive” driving techniques.
They are still out there. Driving along.
He didn’t get to enjoy the scenery very long. She changed her mind and she began to discuss it with him right there and then in the car. He had very little to say.

If that’s the “scenic” route, I’d hate to see the alternative.

“Hon, let’s talk now. What’s on your mind.” ( get it over with and she’ll get mad and quit talking because the ball game is on TV in an hour. )

From Boston to San Diego with no bathroom stops,
That’s right! He DID it!
He TOOK the right at Albuquerque!
And he would do it AGAIN!
As a kid who was in trouble, nothing made for a longer, quieter ride than that which occurred when our father uttered: Wait until we get home!
He should say we will discuss it now and if I don’t like what you have to say, I hope you enjoy your walk home.
