When you’re searching with a magnet, the only “bounty” to be found will be iron or its alloys, ie, steel….
and not even the arguably highest quality stainless steel, which is non-magnetic.
Sorry, Agnes… but you’ll pull up empty tomato soup cans, and leave all the gold bracelets and platinum tiaras in the depths…
in fact, you won’t even pick up the slightly higher value recyclable cans, ie, the aluminum ones.
Even if your magnetic “fishing” scores you an old metal detector, or you find one in a dumpster, and by some miracle, it still works…
all but the expensive ones only find things at a shallow depth, and I’m told really cheap ones don’t find gold…
though I don’t know whether that’s true.
Your quest may bring you some fun outdoors, some exercise, some happy dreams…
maybe some muddy clothes, lost bolts, and light weight discarded frying pans…
but riches, alas, are doubtful.

It’s a trailer park. Cusp of many things, but wealth doesn’t really come to mind.
Most of our rainfall ends up in a small creek that meanders through our subdivision.
Looking forward to seeing what her magnet finds.
