in August 1966 My favorite is “Didn’t Want To Have To Do It”, a sad song with the beat down throughout, like the Fifth Dimensions’ “One Less Bell To Answer”.

The place I lived when that song came out extended maybe two blocks north to south and two-and-a-half blocks east to west, but the heat was still awful.

We didn’t have AC when we were kids so we loved that song-we we’re roasting but grateful we didn’t live in the city-it sounded even hotter!
