Snarky joke.

The “pair of shorts running all by themselves” reminded me of a Dr. Seuss story (last story included in “The Sneetches and Other Stories”) called “What was I Scared of?” about an encounter with a pair of pale green pants with nobody inside them.

Technology abounds if one knows where to look for it.

I drive to work very early in the morning while it’s still dark. Amazed (and aghast) by the number of people who run (presumably for their health) … in the dark … wearing all black. No light, no reflector, no nothing.

No, what they are is highly REFLECTIVE. They’re only highly VISIBLE if there’s an external source of light to reflect off of them. I can easily imagine 2 of these runners going in opposite directions and smashing into each other.

A big problem with reflective clothing is that they only work if the car has its headlights on.

Running lights on a bike at night? Your just giving the demented a good target!
