Manchin is definitely deflecting the heat away from others in Washington. He and his gang of compromising conservatives have drafted a bill which is Seinfeld worthy in that it is all about nothing and even if it had substance probably would not get the required support from either side of the aisle. I guess we citizens should be grateful for small things like Manchin not doing something like Ben Nighthorse Campbell and Richard Shelby did back in the 90s by flipping parties and giving his buddy KY Mitch the leadership again…..
As presidential and congressional approval ranges shrink due to extreme partisanship, it really is hard to single out any individual as the culprit for our dysfunction in government.
That deformed hoist in the background isn’t doing the red car’s frame any good, so maybe the foreground mechanic isn’t so good as an explainer, either.
And the last person who gets an “out” is blamed for losing the baseball game. It’s human nature to find someone to blame…even if the loss was a team effort.
