I’m with the guy. Unlike many, I actually find it easy to maintain BOTH the recognition that a politician is the kind of stuff I wipe off my shoe, should I have the misfortune to step there AND that there’s an even more noxious pile a little ways away.
From my perspective, the more the GQP types inflict public hurt on each othr the better I like it. Let them BOTH eat you know what. In fact, let them ALL eat that.
I am glad Ted put this out there. The mainstream media like CNN and MSNBC are making Liz Cheney into some kind of maverick and martyr which of course she is neither. I give her credit for standing up to Trump but it seems like those media outlets in search of ratings and clicks are trying to make the far right black shirt out to be a heroine which she is not! Truth is put aside for the almighty dollar with many of these media outlets and that is sad.
Its like choosing sides between Hitler and Mussolini when it comes to warring Repubbas. Looking at the Repubba party and how it has radically shifted further and further into far right madness and I have to say that the last truly credible Republican might have been Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens who was nominated by Ford back in 1975 and of course nowadays he is considered to be far too liberal to be a Repubba or even an establishment/Centrist Democrat. Heck Noam Chomsky pointed out that the last president who was somewhat liberal was actually Dick Nixon, not sure if I totally agree with the old guy 100% but he makes a point in that Nixon did get 3 pro-choice SCOTUS justices nominated and voted in something that could never happen today and amended the Fair Labor Standards Act. Now we have Biden obviously better than what we just endured for 4 years but then again mediocrity is better than idiotic ineptitude and the flagrant greed of a narcissist……..
Just because we recognize that Liz has a sense of reality doesn’t mean we’re supporting her. It nice to know who’s the opposition, and who’s completely ‘effing nuts.
Guy Forsyth, in lyrics of a song of his, portrayed the world view of the USA as a spoiled, drunk fifteen-year-old waving a gun in their face. I thought it apt.
Leading the anti-environmental wing trumps everything else. We’re quickly heading toward a dead world, all those other arguments just won’t matter.
Ironically, it looks more and more like Asians did cause COVID-19 – with financial help from the U.S. Look up “gain of function” research, the lab escape hypothesis, and EcoHealth Alliance. That doesn’t mean it was intentional, it was likely just the result of fallible humans playing with figurative flamethrowers.
Theodore, if you had simply pointed out that Liz Cheney is flexible about which Big Lies to back, you would’ve been spot on. Alas you’re making up shit about her suggesting Trump as a faux liberal, when his fascist tendencies have always been on display.
I don’t support either of them. I’ve said elsewhere that Liz Cheney deserves no praise. It only shows how deep into the mire the entire Republican Party has gone that a person who aligned her votes with #45 93% of the time lost her position in that party.
It’s been obvious to some of us for years that the Republican Party and FoxNews have moved the Overton Window so far to the right that people like Clinton and Obama, who are virtually identical to “moderate Republican” George H. W. Bush, are now seen as “leftists,” and the John Birch Society, which was considered “beyond the pale” for noted racist conservative William F. Buckley, had become the mainstream GOP.
Now it’s gone even farther – the Birchers aren’t rightwing ENOUGH for the Trumpanistas.
Both have voting records that make each equally not worth Democrats supporting at all, in any way, shape, or form.
The thing they have done that is good, is shown just how crazy and undeserving of leadership roles that the entire Republican party is. Unfortunately, too many ‘life long Republicans’ are not paying attention.

Democrats don’t like either one, but if one shows some small adherence to reality, it makes them marginally better than the other.

And of course all the coverage of this “fight” doesn’t have anything to do with distracting attention from the Zionist pre-genocide operations.

Has the Nazi equivalence become a normal part of our political discourse? Just a few years ago it wasn’t. Is this wise?

I have to concede this is so true, even Geo. W. is getting respect even though 1000s of military died because of him.

Not to mention over a million Iraqis. Literally “not to mention.” Even liberal media never mention them.

Democrats can let the crazies fight it out to the death. Ignore their fratricidal circus and just concentrate on governing.

This country has become so divided, the choice of none of the above is even an option.

LOL, a negatively worded question trying to limit responses to only bad choices! Why do Democrats have to back either Republican?
