“The enemy of my enemy”… Though in truth, she’s not an enemy of the party, just the cult. And She’s an awful person who supports awful legislative actions. Which informed Democrats are perfectly aware of.
Liz Cheney voted with Trump 93% of the time, one of the highest voting rates in agreement with Trump in all of congress, far higher than Elise Stefanik of New York, who is being groomed to take her place (Stefanik did not even vote for the 2017 Trump corporate welfare and tax giveaway to the rich bill, his signature legislative accomplishment, which Cheney did support).
But Stefanik has the one thing Cheney lacks: absolute cult loyalty to Donald Trump.
She buys the lies, drinks the Kool-Aid, voted to overturn the election (Cheney did not), voted against impeachment (which Cheney voted for) and fully supports the Big Lie.
Apparently Liz Cheney drew the line at armed, violent, TREASONOUS insurrection which is all just hunky-dory for Elise Stefanik.
Is this a cartoon about the latest false conservative impression of things?
If so, it’s right on target.
If Stahler thinks this is what Democrats actually think of Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney, think again.
They may have some actual principles, but their politics is still in the toilet. They just managed to clear the bar set by the GQP, which is no bar at all.
Who would have thought that Liz Cheney has some principles. She is still an awful and dangerous person. Let the GOP destroy themselves. Destruction is what they are best at.
Liz Cheney is still a hardnosed conservative who has become a martyr for her stance against the Big Lie. She is only doing what any responsible politician should, so sit back and enjoy the show but don’t make her into something she’s
There is a difference between old-style Republicans and Trump-Republicans.
Old style Republicans would compromise when it is in their best interest. Some might have even had the best interest of “We the people” in the backs of their mind.
Trump-Republicans? Well, as Mitch the Bitch said, "I’m going to spend "100% of my time fighting Biden. He’s already proclaimed a “scorched earth” policy for the Senate. In other words, we don’t care how many RINOs we have to sacrifice on the altar of Trumpism, we don’t care innocent people get killed, we don’t care what we do to the country, we don’t care if we have to repeal and replace democracy, the only thing that matters is that we WIN.
I am looking forward to a reasonable Republican Party to keep the Democrats in check.
Unfortunately we only have two parties: the Democratic Party and the anti-Democracy Party. I have little love for the Democratic Party, but I cannot support the whacko, anti-science, conspiracy, white supremist party that the GOP has become.
Officially I am registered as an independent. I have been since the late 1980’s when the “Tea Party” and Evangelical Christians started taking over what used to be my party.
Since then Q-Anon, the KKK and the Kremlin have also taken over the corpse of the Republican Party. It’s more zombie than autonomous anymore.
I figure that if Churchill and Roosevelt can join with Stalin against Hitler, I can join with the Democrats against the Republicans.
Liz is playing a longer game. She did finally hit the line, but she was part of the problem all along, so I’m not exactly cheering for her. She just wants to take a break while her insane brethren devour each other like some twisted zombie movie and then move back in to the vacuum created.
Kind of sad reality that it takes someone like Liz to spell out truths about the last election.. and sadder that she is ignored.
This.. just shows the power of propaganda and how even supposedly intelligent folk can be sucked in. Historians wonder how dictators of the past (Adolf Hitler; Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin; Mao Zedong; Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini… and so many more) managed to sway the people. Historians will again wonder about this time period as well.
I was kind of impressed when I kept hearing the news media say Stefanik voted against the Trump tax cuts . . . but then found out it was over State and local tax deduction, one of the few good things in Trumps tax bill
In today’s GOP, no matter how loyal you’ve been in the past, if you misstep (in their eyes) at all then you are labelled a (insert long list of curses and insults here) Democrat and ousted… makes one wonder why one would want to be a member of such a political party…
Even worse if your misstep happens to support the U.S. instead of Dear Leader…

It is, nonetheless, good to hear at least two Republicans actually face up to reality!

The parallels between today’s GOP and the German brown shirts of the 1930’s are frightening.

Big F Deal!
Some Republican becomes a HERO for demonstrating acceptance of something obviously true.
McCain for not trashing Obamacare.
Willard the ChickenHawk for voting to convict obviously guilty Trump.
And now Cheney.

It seems, that Liz is part of a small portion of the party that wants the party to exist after the Boomer and Gen-X cohorts die out.

She calls a lie a lie. Therefore the nutcases hate her. They live in a fake universe based on lies and refuse to accept reality.
