Loving the “Passive Voice Automaton”. I was taught that when I explain concepts, I need to use the active voice because that makes it real, pulls people into the mindset they need for learning. Passive voice is almost always used to deflect attention, put you to sleep, obscure who was actually involved.
Do police departments still have Officer Friendly programs that send police officers into schools to talk up the good things police do in the community? If so, that must be a tough job these days.
I remember the little TV spots that once played up the good job firemen did, with the ditty that ended, “The fireman is your friend / Yes, the fireman is your friend!”
What would be a good jingle to use in such a TV spot for policemen? — one that would be clever and true, not mocked all to hell by comedians as robo-cop nasty or Barney Fife pathetic?
I saw a document showing the collective budget of US police as compared to military budgets. We spend more on the police than most countries in the WORLD spend on their entire military. Roughly 50% more for US police (in a country of 330 million) than India spends on its military (in a country of 1.2 billion).
Meanwhile, in Florida, the legislature has passed a law that allows an unelected board to undo the budgeting in any city that has the nerve to vote to reduce the police funding. I call it the “Thou shalt spend big on cops, or else” bill. Ain’t “democracy” great!
I love the “Fascist Flag” drone! I’ve been saying for some time that the Blue Lives Matter is the flag they fly when they’re too chicken to fly the Confederate flag!

Nothing says “I support police” like defacing the flag.

Love Mr McFadden’s treatment of the cop badges in his work.

Somehow, the way police are treated now remind me of the military personnel during the Vietnam war.
