Ever consider a NATIONAL ID for every U.S. Citizen and all legal residents of the U.S.?? At the mere mention of a NATIONAL ID, the republiKKKans go into a hissy fit and call it UNAMERICAN!!

So, Mr. Ramirez, to ensure that elections are “secure”, you’d support the state and/or federal government providing IDs to all at no cost if they can’t afford one? Driving them to get one? Can’t wait to see the Republicans supporting those measures.

Yeah! THAT’s why Georgia, Arizona, Florida, and making it harder to vote. We want people to REALLY validate themselves as Republicans, er, Americans!

I guess the “validation” part is the problem, currently it is about 90% color based.

I’ve lived in, and voted in four different states, two “blue”, two “red”… never once was asked to produce an ID. You simply always have give your name and address to the person at the check in desk, and then the different person at the check out desk and never once, since 1982, and I vote every year, has my name and address been previously checked off…

I have no problem with voters showing ID when voting, Michael. But don’t you thing these laws should be held off until the states run a program to validate and hand out voter ID cards? Otherwise, it’s just a scheme to keep people from voting.

OK Mr. Ramirez, tell us bluntly that you believe that all those new laws concerning voting being passed by Republican state legislatures, and the not so new one requiring voter ID, are solely or even mainly for the purpose of stopping illegal voting. Come on. Put it in print. What are you waiting on?

From what I’ve noticed, most people are not against voter ID. What they are against are the convoluted ways the politicians try to dictate who and how people can vote – and how they implement voter ID has been one way.

NC has been trying to implement voter ID for at least seven or eight years, but they insist upon doing it in ways that the court system ends up overturning. It’s not a coincidence that NC’s legislature has been dominated by Republicans during all of this. As an example, about six or seven years ago the legislature issued a list of acceptable IDs (many of which were types that minorities were less likely to possess) but people went out to get those iDs… then just a few weeks before the election the legislature decided to disqualify some of their listed IDs… people had to scramble to get new IDs, and to make it even harder there was little information on where to go and little cooperation from State employees to direct people to the correct unmarked office… shenanigans like that earn Republicans and voter ID distrust.

Oh, Georgia, how could you!? Uh, wait…what???…you aren’t restricting voting? But, that’s all you hear/read in the news and from the Biden administration and Dem’s in congress. Here’s an interesting column that gives a more complete view of what Georgia has actually done with their new law, check it out if you’re brave enough to seek the truth:https://www.nationalreview.com/2021/03/the-voter-suppression-lie/

Oregon has had 100% voting by mail for a couple of decades, some five other states not quite so long. Fraud? Zero, except for a “conservative” clerk in Clackamas Co. six years ago who was filling in some down-ballot offices left blank on the returned ballot. She only did a couple of dozen like that before getting qualms, and as “fraud” goes it’s pretty tame, but the fact is that there have never been election scandals connected with the practice. “Attorney” General Barr’s speculations about fraud in connection with mail-in ballots only highlights the limitations of “thought experiments”.

If the Georgia “voting rights” law is so open and above board, why did the governor sign it in a closed door, republican only session of the general assembly with the arrest of a Democratic duly elected official who knocked on the door to ask for admittance?

Republicans used to be so much better at suppression than this. Doing it in broad daylight? Allowing anyone who can read the law to do so?

I remember the 2016 election. Dodge City, Kansas, closed a polling place in the heart of the poor section of town, saying it was closed for safety repairs. It wasn’t, of course….no signs to that effect, not even an orange cone in the parking lot. In fact, there were events booked in that venue the next week, which went on without a hitch.

They moved the voting place six miles away, more than a mile away from the end of the bus line.

It went to court, and a judge decided that it was just too late to do anything about it. Better luck next time. Ah, the good old days….

One thing MAGA has taught us: there’s no need to hide our true feelings towards the interlopers who have invaded our country (even those whose families have been here for centuries).

Then why are conservatives fighting automatic registration when you get/renew your licenses? Or allowing student to use their student IDs? Or simply adding a photo to the voter ID card everyone already receives?

It’s almost this whole fight is about obstruction, not security. #Weird

Asking people to stand in long lines, without access to food, water or portopotties to vote is unamerican. Asking people to have yet another form of ID that must be validated at unreasonable cost is a poll tax, and that’s not just unamerican, it’s illegal. Telling people that they have to have a witness in order to vote by mail is both insane AND unamerican. What IS “proamerican” is seeing to it that each adult citizen gets to vote and that their votes are ALL counted. In my state, we assure that the voter is who they claim to be by checking a signature, which is on file. It’s not particularly easy (though also not particularly difficult) and the effort is put on the county (in our state) not the voter. As it should be.

Please explain to me how restricting the number of polling places in poor neighborhoods requiring people to stand in line for 8 hours to vote and then passing a bill making it illegal for people to give them food or water while they are standing in line is American?

Spot on once again, Ramirez! Add more precincts and multiple HD security cameras that all three parties can monitor. It is so sad to see so many misguided brainwashed posts. The only votes responsible adults want to restrict are illegal aliens and fellons. Trump got many more black and hispanic votes in 2020 compared to 2016 because his policies including law and ordet improved their lives. Biden’s handlers constantly have him read that his sole purpose is to do everythig for us miserable Americans because only Government is smart enough. Pray for our leaders to get back to the Biblical truths and principles that our founders used to create this great country.
