Is that how they get more ink. You had to refill them.

Squid last about two years, same as printers from HP.

My wife and I use toner cartridge printers. I hardly ever print, so my HP1018 printer is still on its second cartridge since 2010. My wife prints everything and goes through a cartridge about once every 14 months.

If we thought we needed color, we’d buy a inkjet printer, but it would not be our primary printer – in fact, the ink would most likely evaporate before we’d get to use it.

It’s the same with razors and razor blades.

This doesn’t affect me. I use disposables. I have a beard. The reason the beard is where the beard is, is because that’s where the hair grows fastest and thickest. The reason the beard is not where the beard is not, is because the hair grows slowly and sparsely there. It needs shaving only once every couple of days (pre-pandemic / mask).

So I shave a small patch once or twice a week and a disposable razor lasts a month. A 12-pack is a year’s supply.

On the other hand, I probably go through a half dozen AA batteries to keep the beard trimmer going for a year.

    I still think I’m ahead $$$-wise.

Why is ink so expensive? I hardly use my printer and when I do need it, the ink is gone….now the printer is caput….I give up!

And…they only come with the smaller size introductory cartridges. At least we only have to buy black!

Epson tank printers. No cartridges, just bottles of ink used to fill the printer tanks. One for me and the girls on a LAN and a dedicated one for the Mrs because of her job. So far no problems and the girls and the Mrs are happy (and that’s the important part)
