Slow burn. Low burn. My turn. It has always amazed me that, as mad as those humongous, tough, armored football players get, referees don’t get creamed more often.
HOT FLAT FOOT- Your Honor there is no way Bozo could have given Officer Buttons a hot foot, one Fuzzy is seen running away from the crime. Plus we all know Ed Norton works in the sewer….Defense Rest. INCASE OF FIRE- Hey the call box may have drooped due to the heat. OFF CENTER- We know that Bozo got past the line, look at the Coach and the crowd and aisle. “HANG THE REF!”
In panel 3 of IN CASE OF FIRE can anyone identify the large globe-shaped object seemingly attached to the hood of the fire truck closest to us? (A glimpse of part of it seems to be at the left edge of panel 4 as well.)
2. Of course he could have shinnied up the pole instead of pulling the fire alarm down to him, but you can’t really blame him for not thinking of that — he was in too much of a hurry to report the fire, that’s all.
3. Can’t really blame him for that, either, under the circumstances. (See, they knew about concussions even back then….)
1) PAIN IN THE FLATFOOT: Foot patrol can’t find Bozo. When the cop is snoozing Bozo sneaks out of a sewer hole and drops the heavy lid on the cop’s foot!
2) TWIST AND SHOUT: A fire! Bozo finds a too tall call box. When the fire fighters find it there is a puzzle over it twisted down.
3) TURNED AROUND: Bozo is tackled and confused. When the referee walks the ball Bozo drops him in an ankles tackle.

2. Bozo brought it down to his level.
3. Penalty on the play, on the guy in stripes, misplacement of the ball. Automatic first down!!!

❶ Bozo can always match the cops.
❷ The instructions said, “Open Door, Pull Down”!
❸ Coach’s instructions: “Whoever has the ball, tackle him”
