Apparently immunising first, the people who are most likely at risk or most likely to spread the disease is not the Republican way. Instead the shots should go first to those with the most money to pay for them.
I agree that too much emphasis on “fair” can get in the way of “just do it”. We live in a generally liberal county with a very liberal (university) city. Just a few miles away, there’s a more conservative, blue-collar county and town. Both counties are using the same state guidelines for who is eligible … and in fact, the local “big medical group” is handling both counties.
Spouse and I signed up to be notified of available vaccine with both counties, which was allowed.
We got a notice to sign up Monday, jumped on it and scheduled our jabs for Wednesday and got our first jabs around lunch time. In the blue-collar county. We have yet to hear anything from the liberal county. It is possible that the names are cross-correlated between counties to explain that, but even so, I would expect to be at least notified …
“Bok” has replaced my use of the “F” bomb in public. Phrases like “Don’t Bok this up!”, "What the Bok?! ", “Bok you!, you bokking, Bok!” When it comes to expressing an expletive with links to extreme stupidity, “Bok” can’t be beat!
It appears to be an accurate depiction of how vaccine priorities are being set in my state; a little tongue in cheek, but not much. Any complaints or problems are then of course blamed on Trump rather than state organizational failure and incompetence.
At least there are vaccine doses to fight over. Remember, Mr. Bok — Trump didn’t order any after he decided we should be subjected to “herd immunity.” I.e.. I survived it, (with medical care unavailable anyone but him and a few others) so screw the rest of you.
Excellent work Chip and right on point. The Democrat left ignoring science and wanting to allocate the vaccines based on faux gender issues, ethnicity and skin color. There’s already been talk of denying the vaccine to those left reich deem unworthy, you know, the deplorables. Next they’ll be forcing anyone doesn’t march in lock step with them and has a different opinion, to wear the equivalent of the Scarlet Letter or Star of David. C’mon you lefties, you know in your small intolerant hearts, this is true. We see evidence of this attitude every day across these comment sections.
What’s the problem Chip, old boy? don’t get the fact that some people require things before you? Don’t like the idea of having to wait your turn? So self centered that you don’t understanding prioritizing those whose services you may need, or your older, frail relatives?

500,000+ American covid deaths and Baghdad Bok is really, really worried about making a culture war out of prioritizing life saving vaccinations.
As are all Trump Disciples.

If things were this organized it would be amazing. But then, it is a DJT legacy.

Bok makes fun of legitimate questions that address (1) saving lives, and (2) attempts to contain a virus that mutates faster than Chip can say “MAGA”.

That’s fine if more right wingers die from their own negligence and stupidity.

SNL did a better job mocking how screwed it is to allow state leaders dictate who gets the vaccine.
