Yep. This is why it’s important to vote ALL THE WAY DOWN the ballot. And get involved with your local (county) and state politicians to the point where they know (or their database at least contains) your name… or if not that, then you know what kind of person they are. Your vote for President of the US matters, but not as much as your vote for congress critters. (And if you’re in a place, such as where I live, where one party always wins, then you really MUST get involved with that party and their primaries.)
Republicans: the minority that is very good at cheating. So tired of their evil, antidemocratic bs. Not very happy with the losers that support them, either. Dummies.
If their party isn’t popular enough to win honestly, they will gerrymander, disenfranchise, and prevent voters they don’t like from voting. Basically, they cheat like a M-Fer.
They are the ones defrauding voters of their right to vote. They can’t have blacks, Browns, Non-Christians, LBTGs, liberals, Independents, and certain ex-GOP who seen their bs from inside voting.
I fear that I’m getting even more cynical these days. I’m very happy, of course, that Trump is no longer president, but somehow he has not lost his hold on the Republican Party. It’s totally clear that the Republican Party in general doesn’t believe in democracy. They believe in power, their power, and that’s all. Meanwhile, the Democrats elected a well-meaning President who is going to have a hard time getting his well-meaning but inadequate program through Congress. There are really serious problems that need to be attended to right away, but the Democrats seem to be only dimly aware of what’s really going on. Above all, there is the climate crisis. The pandemic has caused a lot of suffering, but that’s nothing compared to what the climate crisis is going to do. Meanwhile, the problem of income inequality in the US is enormous, and that is connected to a whole set of other problems, including inequality in health care, educational opportunity, and so on. The Democratic program barely touches these problems. I could go on.
Exactly, republicans know they are in the minority so its full steam ahead for lying, cheating, election rigging and vote suppression from the desperate right wing creeps.
The Republicons have been continually moving the voting goal line for years. Democrats want everyone to vote and the cons only want “their people” to vote.

It’s time to re-authorize the Voter Rights Act and have it provide oversight to prevent state measures to suppress voting.

I’m hoping that criminal suits related to his finances will take some of the wind out of tRump’s sails.

But we need massive amounts of voter suppression to offset the minuscule if not outright invisible cases of voter fraud, doncha know?

Voter suppression is the main event at CPAC this year, along with worshiping the “Golden Calf” image of ‘the former guy’.

France blazes the trail: Petain, Chirac, and now Sarkozy. We could learn from them.
