I would have thought Robb would have had him as a Flyer. Guessing that there are a lot of hoops to go through to get NHL permission or high fees involved.
I avoided the use of the word,” Zamboni”out of respect for my departed friend and mentor Charles “ Sparky” Schulz. He found the word “ Zamboni” so funny, he often punctuated his gag frames with it.
Makes you wonder why Kenny ignored his mother’s words and didn’t thank his father, when he knew Delray was responsible for him getting the skating rink and not his mother.
Free to the public? I can only imagine the huge operating costs of a facility that large. Perhaps the roof is filled with solar panels to reduce energy costs, and the business is subsidized by the City of Philadelphia?
You think of Zambonis, you think of hockey, and wonder where in Canada it was invented… Los Angeles. An engineer whose family owned a rink. He thought it would be better than manually scraping the ice. I don’t know if he’d have liked Schulz thinking the word Zamboni was funny – his name was Zamboni.

Why is Kenny’s last name shown as Crunchy, I thought his adopted mother’s & father’s last names were Ramsey.

I don’t get why Kenny doesn’t say “Thanks, Dad” in the last panel. Mom explicitly told him to do that.
