I always like to remember that the “liberty” (and “freedom”) that was so prized by the British invader-colonisers was the right to claim land and make money by exploiting the poverty of others without paying off the Crown for the privilege, something most of the working class in England were never allowed to do anyway.
Is it any wonder that we’re up to our chins in Shite Creek whispering “don’t make waves, don’t make waves!”?
freedom to believe someone hiding in the Philippines spreading lies. One who ran an online porno with child porno links on it all to get around Japanese porno laws. Then accuses all democrats of being into pedophilia. Watch Japan the asshole son is in your country and up to no good.
This is a good cartoon. For all those who scream “My freedom to do what I want!”, they need to realize that their freedom has responsibility, and that their freedom must not infringe on the freedom of others — and that some freedoms come before others.
The government asks people to wear masks, no mandate or law, really just common courtesy. Yet, anti-maskers scream about their freedom.
The government has LAW that you wear pants in public. Yet no one screams about their freedom lost. Must be OK with them to cover up their shortcomings.
Most Republicans are onboard with the plan to end Democracy by next election cycle. They’re trying to set a dangerous precedent that anyone who incites a coup against the US government should go free without facing any consequences.
THE RIGHTWING STUPID need to remember. Their freedom ends where mine begins. I resent that they seem to believe their right to not wear a mask exceeds my right to live.
Jen… very strong and wonderful as always. However, I must say I am unfortunately perplexed (not getting/understanding) the partial panel where it says “Freedom from dying because you ran out of milk.” I am hoping one of the other readers could explain the background story on this one… because I am not recognizing/understanding that part or what it is referencing.
Great cartoon, Jen. But we need to remember there’s more of us than there are of the RWNJs out there. It’s time we started acting like it and started pushing back. Our nation’s future depends on it.
Many years ago when I was in university we discussed freedom as opposed to license. Freedom meant that your actions were within the bounds of the law while license meant a complete disregard of law and community responsibility. These people don’t know anything about freedom, they want license to do as they please.

Our Founders did not promote Freedom of Speech because they believed that people need to be able to lie without consequence.

The right-wing definition of “freedom” is “no personal consequences for any idiotic, destructive thing you want to do.”

People like to talk about their freedoms. They rarely talk about their responsibilities.
