Our national embarrassment is no longer President, but he will remain our embarrassment until he receives justice and until something is done to prevent a future demagogue from ever becoming President again.
My memory of presidents goes back to FDR. I can not ever remember anything like this before. Our country would never have remained a democracy if he’s have won a 2nd term.
Again uplifting the U.S. ideal, welcoming those who seek shelter and a better life, regardless of religion/skin color/language. Her torch is also shining brighter.
Donald Trump himself is an aberration. He was the perfect storm of money (or the perception of it), name recognition, adoration from reality show devotees, absolute arrogance on his part, and of course the right wing’s willingness to lie, cheat, and steal. We will not see the likes of him again.HOWEVER, we will see resurgent efforts on the part of those who want white “purity”, concentrated wealth in the hands of a few, and unbridled power. Those on the left who still cherish the notion of democracy will have to be continually on the guard — the radical right WILL attack again, either physically or politically (or both). But the attack will bypass Trump — he is old and in bad health. He has disappointed the rabid right because he gave up (to their minds) far too easily. Until we, as a nation, address the roots of the division — white supremacy and concentration of wealth — we will continue to sit on a powder keg.
She’d be smiling really big if everyone that lost someone to COVID-19 or got COVID-19 were to file a class action lawsuit against ‘the man who couldn’t be king’. He could sell Mar-a-Lago as a down payment…
It’s sad but it’s true: such laughably stupid posters as Andy Illiterate, Montana Swill, and John Qanon Adams are FAR more intelligent than Donald Trump. Of course, that’s something like bragging about being the world’s largest amoeba………..
Ooops. I forgot to mention the 10,500 people who got fired down on the border. No wall, no jobs.
So that’s 21,500 on unemployment on Joe’s first day. But wait. What about all the suppurating jobs lost? People who make the pipe, who make the steel and readymix for the wall? How many layoffs at those plants? And the locals down the food chain?
Figure about 45,000 total jobs lost. Good job, Joe, good job.
Oh my LORD are you as worthless as Montana Swill and John Qanon Adams, Andy? How the hell—how the HELL—can you live with yourself? Knowing that you deliberately (without, I grant you, any talent or skill or knowledge) supported an Occupant who has more than 400,000 deaths on his conscience? (Strike that, the sociopath Trump had no conscience even before becoming a traitor.) With any (mark this well, Andy, even though I know you won’t understand it), with ANY president worth the tenth part of the tenth part of a damn, our death toll would be far lower. Traitor Trump was briefed on this potential threat to our national security in December—of 2019! (I will do you the courtesy of assuming that you understand calendars.) What happened next? He sat on his fat lazy idiotic treasonous ass for MONTHS, then he lied and said the virus would “disappear”, while meanwhile encouraging Republican governors (note to self: not ALL Republicans are traitors, although Hawley and Cruz are) to be as stupid, childish, backward, and primitive as he himself is. (Ivanka’s efforts to the contrary.) The mocking of people wearing masks, the mocking of the concept of mask-wearing, the super-spreader events at “Re-Elect the Traitor”, the constant, pathetic cowardice……..I know how Donald Trump lives with himself. He couldn’t care less that he is a rapist and a traitor—he only hopes that he won’t be imprisoned for it. My question to you, Andy, is….how the HELL can you live with yourself?

I got a little tear in my eye watching some of the inauguration. What a relief to see actual adults taking up the tasks.

Our country has never been, and is not now a democracy. My hope is that it will remain the Constitutional representative republic it has always been.

Tears of sorrow. With the swipe of his pen yesterday Joe killed 11,000 pipeline jobs.
8000 of them were union jobs. And so it begins.
