The orange mistake didn’t actually manage to damage the constitution, though he sure did try. What he DID do more successfully (if it can be called a success) is gouge further open the divide between the right-wing extremists and the rest of us.
I sure did enjoy watching some of the the inauguration. People being civil, everyone in masks and social distanced (except Garth) and some uplifting speechifying. All good!
There are processes in place designed for that purpose -Amendments and Bill of Rights, for instance. Now that the President, the Senate and the House are willing to work together, we have at least two years to lay down a foundation for the future. The repeal of Citizens United would be an excellent place to start.
We need to come up with a couple of tests that would qualify future Presidential candidates. One similar to a citizenship test to make sure the candidate has a working knowledge of our government and Constitution. The second should be a test to determine a candidate’s psychological profile. Having enough money to run a campaign should NOT be a qualification for the office of President.
Sure, the Republicans and Democrats are willing to work together, at least they say so until some work actually needs to be done. Then The Republicans will have exactly the same primary agenda that they had during Obama’s administration, to obstruct as much as possible to make Biden look as incompetent as possible and retake the White House in four years. Congress needs to review the rules, and since they are in power, rewrite them to give as much power as possible to the Democrats. They can rewrite the rules with each new congress, and there is no reason to buy into the “make nice” & “achieve unity” rhetoric of Republicans who are currently all for letting bygones be bygones. They are like the snake who needed a ride to be rescued. WE KNOW THEY ARE SNAKES, DON’T TAKE THEM IN. BETTER YET, DON’T BE TAKEN IN BY THEM!!!!!

With a lot of faith and hard work, it’ll be fixed better than ever, and hopefully safeguarded from this ever happening again.

Good grief, Rogers! You couldn’t have made Biden look more evil if you’d tried! I can hardly wait to see what you do to VP Harris!

It’s still intact. As long as we don’t ignore it it can work. Sensible rules aren’t just for other people.

At least when Biden said he’d preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution, I believe he meant it.

Shows that, despite their best efforts, fascism and Russian meddling are still no match for the Constitution and the USA!
