When I was a kid, there were at least five cereals with “Sugar” in their names. I grew up in the sugar generation. Who remembers the “sugar sandwich”?
I was never clear on why they changed the original name from “Super Opiate Puffies” to just “Opiate Puffies”.
A bit disturbing how the mascot grew more teeth as time went on.
No ’gators were harmed in the consumption of this cereal…
In the early days of cereal marketing was often based on the laxative properties.
They forgot the circa 1990 box labelled “Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs”!
