SKelley and the rest of the Trump Disciples lie all the time. And now that they are losing power, they supposedly want, uh, ‘mutual respect’. Also compromise, reaching across the aisle, and oooohhh, working together.

All the time, they will continue to scream about the deficit, Law&Order, and how The Left is going to make America totally socialist, which is exactly the same as communist. And fascist.

And they will continue to believe all Trump’s lies and will repeat them continuously on Fox, talk radio, and every right wing web site.

Mutual respect? LOL. How about just mutual tolerance? Leave us to our guns, bibles and churches, and we’ll leave you to your gender confusion, abortions, fornication and drugs. Live and let live, so to speak (or not, in the case of the unborn, but that’s where we’re at). Because if we can’t figure out how to leave each other the heck alone, regardless of how abhorrent we find each other, we’re soon going to be figuring out how to kill each other. In droves.

Mutual respect, when the right worships a name-caller who acts like a 7-year-old?

Mutual respect with people who build a gallows and start hunting for the Vice-President and the Speaker of the House?

If you can’t lose an election without resorting to violence and lies, why the hell would you be respected?

If the party which supported one such as Hair Groppingfuror since 2016 gets some heavy duty counseling as to what the Constitution and democracy actually mean and agree to uphold these values, there may be a reconciliation.

Respect, when the guy is a sexual and physical abuser?

The covid spreading right wing has no respect for anything or anybody. The have made themselves into the most stupid, anti science, vile and violent people they can be. Some partnerships need to be dissolved when the republican party consistently refuses to cooperate the Dems and reality.

After over a decade of gleeful obstructionism, and the past four years of attacking everybody not in lockstep with their agendas, Republicans need to do more than just demand that Democrats merely turn the other cheek. Republicans need to apologize (and mean it), and prove they’ve reformed by being cooperative and stopping their bullying.

Ah, the old domestic abuser argument. “Oh, honey I didn’t mean to hit you. I’m sorry. Give me another chance!”

Hard to have mutual respect with someone so attached to their dangerous delusions. Both parties need to be based in reality, not just one, for this to work.

At least they didn’t burn down anyone’s businesses attempt to murder cops. Now we switch from ‘inclusiveness’ to ‘elections have consequences.’ Well so does the untimely death of Ruth Bader Ginsberg, who should have retired under Obama but stayed on thinking Hillary would become President. Didn’t happen. Oh drat.

Those supporting Trump either have no idea about history, specifically how the Nazis came to power in Germany in the 1930’s, or they have studied and know that history because they are following the exact same playbook Hitler and his supporters followed.

Mutual respect for the party that gave you Trump; gerrymandered electorates; tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations, whilst ignoring the needy; two tiered health; burned the constitution and destroyed your democracy? Respect is earned, not stolen. Nor is respect the act of trampling over other people’s rights. You want mutual respect now, after years of vetoing every bill that came before you? After ignoring the constitution and failing to impeach the disaster you put at the top of your party? Fat chance. But the Democrats will accede to requests for bipartisanship. Why I will never know. Every time the left gives the right some leeway, the right simply kicks the left in the head the next time round and the left, it seems, never bloody learns.

This is a farcical version of Mr Trump’s rant “fine people of both sides”.

This is akin to an abuser beating his wife and then the counselor saying, “You both need to try to respect each other.”

I respect their RIGHTS just as much they respect mine (and extremely low bar). I don’t respect their BEHAVIOR at all !  And I don’t have much respect for their apparent inability to react to the real world instead of the stories they tell themselves.

Bottom line, respect is earned not just an attendance award.

In my dreams, we have a complete slate of elected officials who deserve to be respected. In reality, you gotta give me something to respect. Backing lies that anyone with normal intelligence knows to be lies for decades, using them to further your own interests, and putting party ahead of America? Nope, gotta give me SOMETHING!!

I promise to have all the respect in the world for Republicans going forward. All they have to do is a few little things to prove their sincerity in wanting to support the Constitution and our country’s democratic form of government.
