#MoscowMitch is adding a new title: #MinorityMitch.
Now that the turtle knows he will be in the minority in just twelve days, who wants to take bets that his last few days wielding the gavel he is suddenly going to discover new-found bi-partisan goodwill and reaching across the aisle which, of course, he will expect the new majority to continue?
That is SO satisfying. I can’t stop smiling every time I think of it. Thank you Georgia voters. Thank you Stacy Abrams. Thank you everyone who donated time, money or even positive thoughts.
Mitch is no longer Majority Leader. Ms Linz is no longer Justice Committee Chair. All those republiturd chairmen are now just ranking members. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
I fielded this question yesterday: The incoming Senate will have 50 Republican Senators, 48 Democratic Senators, and two independents. Granted the independents caucus with the Democrats, and a Democratic VP will cast any tie-breaking votes, but how does this translate to the Republicans being the “minority party”? The VP is not, in fact, a Senator.
As I said elsewhere I’m perfectly happy to see Mitch lose power, but I’m wondering about the mechanics of it. If the numbers meant that McConnell WOULD stay Majority Leader I’m sure I would have heard someone mention it…
Miserly Moscow Mitch McConnell HAS NEVER LED. He has devoted his life only to the following: (1) hide the fact that, had the federal government not given his family financial, medical, etc., help, he would probably have died; (2) pursue wealth at all costs, particularly by sucking up to and becoming the chief lapdog to corporations and their wealthy owners; and (3) block small d democratic efforts by us, the people, to participate in and benefit from the nation our forebears delivered to us following World War II and crush those who oppose his de facto dictatorial tactics. Miserly Moscow Mitch McConnell does not inspire, he instills fear; he does not console, he thumbs his nose; he does not empathize, he disdains. He is the jumped-up personification of greed, arrogance, superciliousness, opportunism, hypocrisy, mean-spiritedness, and inhumanity.
