When I was in cardiology we put a table in the waiting room with a jigsaw puzzle. After all the patients had left for the day, we’d take it apart and leave it for tomorrow’s patients to put together. Once a month we’d get out a new one. It kept people occupied (“Wait a minute, Doc. I need to get this one piece in place.”) and got them chatting with each other.
I have a wonderful app on my iPad that I use every day. It’s called “Jigsaw Box” from “Sparkle Apps”. It has many options to customize the pieces and the play, including using my photos as puzzles. I’ve even used some of the Bing wallpaper images as spectacular puzzles.BUT – I can’t set it aside until I’ve finished the entire frame! I try, but just can’t put it aside.

Better than oxytocin. Remember that national affliction?

Jigsaw puzzles are a fairly harmless addiction. At least there are no physical health issues or so say those little voices in my head.

My SIL is easy to buy gifts for. I just get some jigsaw puzzles for her.

It takes over so completely, so quickly. At least it gives us two septuagenarians something fun to do together.

Best part for us is to frame and hang the result. Brightens our lives and the rooms.

I stopped putting them together when I couldn’t find any “cross” words in the finished product. :)

Move to online jigsaw puzzles. I use “Jigzone.” There are many choices as to how many pieces and shapes, and there is a different puzzle every day.
