Yeah. We get that you hate Biden and all his works. Tough. The rest of us hate what the GOP has done to us FAR MORE than we dislilke some of Biden’s history.

I take it the message is that America is eventually going on another crusade somewhere to bring it’s version of truth, justice, and crap capitalism.

The fundamentalist Christians among us preach the Apocalypse. Ted preaches Götterdämmerung. As for me, I hope to settle down, read a bit of Candide, and for a while, at least, cultivate my garden.

Chris Hedges has just written a new article in which he lists a number of Biden picks. https://scheerpost.com/2020/12/20/chris-hedges-the-great-delusion/ Your depiction is spot on!

Well Theodore, you know Bernie’s backing Biden. All your ideals have been shattered. Time to pick up the pieces and put them back together as best you can. Meanwhile, you should put some thought in the dangerous, seditious ideas Trump’s floating in his last month.

“Well Theodore, you know Bernie’s backing Biden.”Of course he is. He works within the system which requires you to sell out.

“All your ideals have been shattered.”Hardly. My ideals live on. And a lot of Americans share them.

“Meanwhile, you should put some thought in the dangerous, seditious ideas Trump’s floating in his last month.” And I have. I have drawn cartoons about Trump’s flirtation with a coup d’état and I have written about it as well. We are definitely not out of the woods. Trump is a trapped cornered rat who knows that losing executive immunity on January 20 means that he will almost certainly be going to prison for the rest of his life. Personally I think it was foolish for Democratic prosecutors to put him in that position but they did. It’s never a good idea to trap someone. I think there is still a strong chance he will try to remain in office despite having lost the election.

Biden should reject all of the demographic groups who supported him during the primary and general elections. Instead, he should pick a cabinet of people like Ted, who despises him.

The problem with many of the GOP is that while not outright racist, fascist, misogynistic or anti-LGBTQ they were silently complicit in Trump’s. They enabled him.

Biden is going to have his problems. Not the same as Trump’s, no. But there will be bad decisions made because of who he is.

I do not wish to be silently complicit in Biden, simply because he is “notTrump”. When Biden is wrong, we need to be ready to correct him. After all, he is “notTrump” and may listen.

And one of Biden’s failings is going to be his corporate stance. He tends to go along to get along with these guys. This will be dangerous.

I’ve spent most of the last six years bashing the conservative cartoonists because they failed to kick Trump when he needed it. Let’s not make the same mistake ourselves. If a liberal voice chooses to speak out against Biden’s policies, that voice needs to be heard.

I am no communist. But I am deeply anti-corporation. Corporate boards need to be held personally responsible for their decisions, both financially and (what is a good adverb for sending someone to prison? Penally?)

And our law makers can’t/won’t do that if they’re beholding to the corporations. Or sitting in the president’s Cabinet.

Couldn’t ask for a better illustration of the emptiness of identity politics, and the dominance of the neoliberal ideology in seats of power. (Is “corporatist pro-war” redundant?)

Socialism and communism were long ago proved to be non-viable forms of government. Even China is not so communist any longer. They always seem to be the tool of some dictator or other. Now the U.S. Democratic Republic has a wannabe dictator in the office of president. But our form government has worked, in spite of interference from our enemies, and tRump is defeated in election and soon will be out of office.

We already have social programs, so Americans are not opposed to acts of socialism, but most Americans are opposed to the word and name ‘socialism’. It has been demonized for certain. Attempting to demonize capitalism is a losing, childish strategy. Working within our system of government has given us needed social programs. It may take longer than some would like, but like tRump, some people kick and scream and cry when they don’t get their way.
