I tried to leave a reply to Wolf but it ended up in the wrong place, it seems, so let’s try it again: This (and the hat comment by gammaguy following) reminds me of an old “Tumbleweeds” cartoon: The Sheriff is about to arrest the robber, but then he realizes that the robber is wearing a white hat, and therefore must necessarily be a good guy. As the Sheriff intones with reverent awe, “It’s the code of the west!”
