Rerun is shrinking his parents’ bank account if he keeps letting a German shepherd eat his shoes.

Rerun’s mother has a high shoe budget.

She is his sole supporter

I hope that German Shepherd isn’t an attack dog. The German Shepherd that bit me on the backside was one.

Does that explain why, walking down the street, I so often see one baby shoe lying on the sidewalk?

Shoe, dog! Go away!

Back before people found out that throwing a shoe at someone is a sign of offense in the Middle East…

Rerun has a future as a tail gunner.

Rerun’s lucky the German Shepherd stopped with thrown shoes; I had a paper route years ago and there was this Doberman Pinscher which was quite vicious; a cop had to come and shoot the dog in the street. There were no leash laws at the time.

Always bring a stick or a bone if a dog chases you. Then, you’ll never run out of shoes.

Next time bring a rock. Or two.

Pit Bulls, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Dobermans are just a few of the dogs you should never allow to run loose.

Brings to mind, James Thurber’s “The Night the Ghost Got In”.

There’s something just utterly delightful about this particular strip. I think it’s Rerun’s face in the last panel as he rides off with only one shoe.

Baby shoes aren’t cheap!

The only dog to take a bite out of me when on my bike, was a Brittany Spaniel. When I called to complain (and ask if it was up to date on it’s rabies shots), the first thing she said was, “my dog doesn’t bite.” Typical.

He mad because you called him stupid.

maybe a big soup bone would be better.
