Collins Street Bakery fruitcake was a tradition in my family that started with my grandmother. It wasn’t until recent years that even my mom stopped liking their recipe (not sure what changed, but something did). Now she orders other items from the same company like cookies and pecan pie but sadly their signature fruitcake has gone the way of other brands….yucky.

I know a lot of people who get excited about fruitcake. I made 30 pounds of fruitcake this year, and people are happy to have it.

Nobody gets excited about fruitcake jokes, but they’re a Christmas comics tradition, so what can you do?

I have a recipe for the best Fruit and Nut Holiday Roll you’ll ever want to eat! No cake, just fruit and nuts! Yummy! An old ancient recipe….

I might like it if it was a fruitcake made with fresh fruit. But I don’t like that candied fruit.

There’s a reason why weirdos are called fruitcakes.

Seems everyone gets “excited” about fruitcake. Both those that love it and those that loath it go overboard expressing their opinions.

I am in the group that think ‘door-stop’ is the best use.

I actually like fruitcake but it has to be a good quality one. However, I’ll joint the “bash fruitcake” crowd and throw in a comment I heard years ago: There is actually only one fruitcake but it keeps getting passed around each year!

my parents and i would take a 2 week vacation in FL each year, and every year on the way back, we’d detour to Claxton GA to visit the Claxton Fruitcake factory for presents and to have some hot fruitcake…fruitcake should be served warm

    Fruitcake isn’t all that bad.
