We bought two copies of Michelle’s book and have ordered two copies of this. The Audible version is, as John RedHawk says, very good. His voice can be so soothing.
I know enough about Obama. Yesterday I picked up a copy of “The Man Without a Face: The Unlikely Rise of Vladimir Putin” by Masha Gessen. Unfortunately it’s from 2012 (with a 2014 postscript) so it doesn’t cover the Trump era (he’s not even listed in the index), but the definitive account of that love story has yet to be written…
“Do we care to match the reality of America to its ideals? If so, do we really believe that our notions of self-government and individual freedom, equality of opportunity and equality before the law, apply to everybody? Or are we instead committed, in practice if not in statute, to reserving those things for a privileged few?” ― Barack Obama, A Promised Land
“And so the world watches America—the only great power in history made up of people from every corner of the planet, comprising every race and faith and cultural practice—to see if our experiment in democracy can work. To see if we can do what no other nation has ever done. To see if we can actually live up to the meaning of our creed.” ― Barack Obama, A Promised Land
Obama’s new release sold 3/4 of a million copies – that’s damn good, but I am sure the “The Art of the Deal” sold many, many more copies on the first day and got better ratings – just ask the Loser.
Trump presidential library: Look behind the stacks of old Hustler and Stag magazines in the rear of Cousin Vinnie’s bookstore in Queens NYC for the autographed coloring books. No loitering!
It was a balm to hear Obama’s voice again this year! He stayed silent for so long as tanTrump tore apart everything Obama built during his terms in office. During 2027 and 2018, I watched the final Key and Peele skit about Obama and his anger translator, Luther, daily just to remain sane! I’m glad Obama finally said “Enough!” His silence was respectful (not that tanTrump deserves respect), but Biden definitely benefited from Obama’s endorsement. And the country benefited from his perspective on the past four years!

Don’t worry, this is only Volume One, about 632 pages.
I do wish I had time to read it.

A best seller before it was released for sale. Perfect timing.

Relax, friends. Barack has enough inflammatory remarks for the whole family.
[ I can’t put my finger on it, but Mike Luckovich can crack me up like no other political cartoonist. ]

I never cared for Obama either but he could speak, read, and write English with native fluency.

Reading it will make me sad and nostalgic for those 8 years. See him pretending to read it on Jimmy Kimble. :-D
