Every Democratic congressional incumbent who LOST re-election opposed Medicare-for-all and the Green New Deal.

Every time Medicaid expansion has been on the ballot in any state, including deep red states like Utah, it has passed.

Yes, we need to recognize that what works for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in a deep Blue district that includes Bronx and Queens won’t work in every rural and Midwestern moderate area.

Yes, we need to recognize that selling the message precedes winning the elections and need to hone that message in language that communicates to real people how policies affect their real lives.

Yes, we need to recognize that we need to broaden our reach to build a bigger tent — that elections are won by building coalitions through ADDITION, not through subtraction or division — which, yes, include compromise and consensus-building.

But this idea that the Blue Wave crashed in the wrong way because of the Left is just a further denial from the 2020 losers.

Because winning the Presidency and the House was a disaster for the party?

The left wing, the middle and part of the right wind is a far cry better only the right wing tip of the republicans.

It’s remarkable that in the USA, a person like Biden is called “far left” (by the right wingers) whereas in the rest of the world, he’d be called “moderately conservative”.

A few places in the world recognize the value of good universal health care, education that teaches critical thinking, strong unions, fair taxation and income equality. Too bad Americans don’t want those kind of nice things.

Universal health care, education for all, transitioning to renewable energy, international agreements like the Paris Accord and Iran treaty are all things that would support ALL people and the entire economy. The currrent corporate welfare is destroying the U.S. and why it is heading for a crash.

I wonder if they hear anything after the cry of “they’ll take away your guns, you’ll lose your freedom”?

True enough.. the republican propaganda machine has been very capable of demonizing common sense improvements. The “dems” need to take a page from the republicans playbook.. promise the people only what they want to hear.. then when you get the power.. do whatever you want.

Voters are terrified of the label “socialism”, but not the policies that the GOP usually refers to when talking about socialism. All Democrats were labeled as socialists (which mobilized Republicans more than it discouraged Democrats). However, if they had also supported “far-left” policies, such as Medicare for All and infrastructure expansion, which are actually rather popular, then they could have garnered yet more support, and that was necessary. If the only thing that anyone thinks about you is SOCIALISM, yeah, you might lose.

There is no Far left in America… You have left (Bernie, Warren, AOC)… you have Moderate Left (Obama) … Moderate Right (Biden, Lincoln Project) … Far Right (Most of the GOP) … and Nazis (Trump and his ilk). The question is … how long and how far are US citizens going to continue to allow them to move the goalposts
