April does look adorable in that outfit

Baby’s first funeral! (Note to colourist: “black” in the original “black and white” did not necessarily mean “black”, but a dark colour.)

Panel 1. In her white “slip”, she doesn’t notice. Panel 2. She notices something different about this black thing. Panel 3. She stares at her mother with a face that says “I don’t like this dress.” Mothers couldn’t help but dress their little girls in pretty things. If I had a daughter, I’d do the same. My daughter in law gift-wraps her little girl. However, my granddaughter does not care to wear hair accessories or keeping the pretty stuff clean. I have friends whose little girls or granddaughters leave hair accessories untouched and their party dresses clean, their stockings intact and shoes shiny. What are their secrets, I wonder?

“This time of year my wife gift-wraps everything!”

A wrap-artist, eh?

Poor April just doesn’t understand.

I would have dressed her in red or green velvet. The black is too somber for a baby.

My wife and son, who still lives with us absolutely can’t wrap a gift. I don’t get it. That means I’m the official “gift wrapper” in our house. Ugggg. (I wonder if I’m being taken?)

I used to wear shorts under my dresses at school so I could do cartwheels .

In Jamaica I saw a huge message painted on the side of a building “wrap that rascal” it was a health clinic.

Lynn’s Comments:

Friends of mine, who had little girls, would give me the fancy dresses their kids had grown out of. I’d look after them and pass them on. These lovely dresses never wore out they just went to the next baby who fit into them. Some of these fancy duds must still be in circulation!

I give that outfit about 5 seconds! :D

I remember the ruffle butt tights. Also had ruffle but underpants at some point. My mom would actually iron the lace on those dumb things. How much easier moms have it today. Very little ironing, disposable diapers, bottles you don’t need to sterilize, “walking shoes” that don’t need polishing…

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY

When my first granddaughter was on the way, my daughter-in-law declared No Pink! Of course, that little girl loves pink, sparkles, princesses, glitter and fairy wings!

black? is she taking her to a funeral? its Christmas! Red, Green !

Who wouldn’t want to wrap that cutie?……

He needs to be wrapped up!

When Elizabeth was a baby, John dressed her up, and was heading for the door. He told Elly he wanted show Elizabeth off.

Did John forget Elly’s name?

Now…. dress up St. Michael like that..

It might be the hat, but that outfit makes April look like a “1920s Flapper.”

I wonder if she hates her outfit

Who would dress a little baby like that all in black?
